Another cake day that I am not aware of? I got one a couple of days ago. But I will take one again. Thanks!

Wait, there could be another Donald here.

Costco’s fuses are labeled “Kirkland Signature” and I recommend you start with the Kirkland towards the cap. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I declare Master fuse is a good fit with Lumin U2, and it beats stock fuse by $400👍

Have just bought a Master fuse for my Rega Osiris cd player. I’m in the UK so have got a 13 amp plug fuse.
Im currently using SR Orange all through my system. But the new Master fuse has different markings to my previous fuses , making correct direction slightly hard to figure.

If you can make it out the SR logo runs around the fuse and not left to right.
Anyone else had the same ?
Im assuming direction will still be L to R as the picture.

Try both ways…You’ll know which way is best!

OUCH !! I just blew my Master fuse…

Fortunately I have the M-1 the Master replaced about 7 months ago - after a few hours of re-burn-in I’m really liking the M-1. It’s not a fair comparison though because I was adding IsoAcoustic feet to my Stellar PP3 and switching to Regen power (from HC) feeding my M700s when the Master blew.

Tonight my system sounds better than it ever has so I am in no hurry to go back to the Master - (at least that’s what I’m telling myself after frying 600 smackers)

I’m not sure I understand how adding new footers caused the fuse to blow “ and switching to Regen power (from HC) feeding my [M700s]”

Did you have the 700s powered up while working on the power?

Everything was powered down by their switches in back - I’m not sure what caused it to blow. When I flipped the PP3 power back on (with everything else off) the PP3 front lights flashed once and then went dead.

The fuse looks fine, but when I tested it using a VOM I got no continuity - I tested the M-1 before putting it in and got 0 ohms.

One of the risks we take when spending big bucks on fuses. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

On another forum many have begun to use the Swiss Digital Fuse Box, claim it is clearly superior to even the SR Purple (no Master users there) and that the box can stop electricity to the amp and be restored with no damage or worry.

I have used solid silver and copper rods/slugs in place of the Purple,Master and M1 fuse…the solid slugs were not even close in the quality of sound I hear with the fuses mentioned. They did excel in the bass though. As always ymmv!

I used gold plated copper slugs 30 years ago in one of my amps. Even back then I liked it better with the fuse. :man_shrugging:

Intriguing. I would expect bypassing the fuse would sound better.
