You might be in the most expensive real estate in the US! No wonder $100k condo is unheard of to you! lol! The $100k condos start at $888k in your neck of the woods!
Well here we go. These are used for the Diablo 300. I just installed the M2 an hour ago so no direct comparison yet. I do need to know which direction you gents inserted the M2. I went with the bottom of the M inwards. TIA. @dchang05 @Vmax
An Estelon Forza AND a Porsche that @RonP wants would be cheaper
I sold an investment property in Redwood Shores and exchanged to Waikiki 16 years ago .It turned out to be an unwise decision. By then I thought the Bay Area RE prices were crazy; I was wrong!
I sticked in one direction of M-2 and didn’t like it. I switched and like the other direction a lot better. I just don’t remember which one😆
It’s a busy day today, and I will put back Master tomorrow, and will find out which direction was mine.
Mine is in burn in mode. 118 hours to go!
With the M1’s, I put the bottom of the M toward the unit, in first. Honestly did not swap the direction as I was using seven of them. You be the ginny pig .
Yes that’s how I have it in.
I don’t have M-2 yet but M-1 is same direction as you are using.
To vmax’s disappointment, I like Master fuse better. M-2 has has exactly 125 hours before I placed the Master back. Immediately the sound is fuller, the bass is puncher, and the soundstage is greater too. It sounded a bit warmer than M-2.
This is by no means the final verdict. Master (2nd) needed way over 1000 hours before I start enjoying it. Before that I put it into the streamer because it didn’t sound great at any of the PSA gear. But now it excels in MK2.
I need to do the same with M-2, although it didn’t sound bad at all at the beginning, but I think more time is needed.
And you will not reach a final verdict until you do what you know you need to do.
(Hint: its initials are S. D. F. B.)
One of those years, after all my fuses have 100000 hours of burn in.
Good to hear that the SR Master can still hold its own. I am also very impressed with his performance
Although M-2 is no match to the Master in my system, but it kills the M-1 in my PST. M-2 has the best of M-1 plus some Purple magic. The sound is so clean and the background is so clear. This was what I heard last night with the dead silence background.
No kidding! My wife rushed in from the kitchen and asked me what did I changed! She did not do that to my $5k power cord😆
There is no question AM M-2 is an improvement over M-1. I may need to put M-2 back into MK 2 after another week to see how I feel. It seems to make a better improvement than the Master which does not make any sense.
It’s time to order an M-2 now you declared the master the winner. Lol. I know for sure M-2 must be incredible to my ears after chasing the silver Ethernet cable and Mater fuse experiment you loved. I am convinced we must hear differently as our systems evolved, since neither the master or the ali-express silver Ethernet could shine or smell or sweeter than a fresh glisyturd to my ears in my system.
I guess that is what makes this hobby special. There is never one answer for everyone.
Now wherher two order one, two or four?
Donald, I think your wife came running out of the kitchen because it sounded better and she wanted to make sure you didn’t move the speakers further into the room.
The M2 is still burning in so I’ll reserve any comments on the fuse. I’m listening to records tonight and so far with 34 hours it’s sounds good. If it gets better after 125 I’ll be happy. My fuse is in an integrated amp. My recent chat with Juan the SR guy said he doesn’t recommend the master in amplifiers and regenerators. He said the master is best with DACs and source components. I didn’t get the master from Juan.
Stier2704, You got me there😆
@vmax, M-2 will the the safest recommendation from me because you like M-1 over other fuses. Master fuse does not get universal positive reviews for sure, and it took forever to break in it seems. I have not heard any negative review on M-1 so far. M-2 to me is similar to M-1, but better!
M-2 never experienced an up-and-down break-in period in my system. However, my speakers break-in trumps everything else. So, you should just order one to try in case my enthusiasm was caused by something else.
It’s interesting there is not much advertising on M-2, and Cable Co. has them readily available with frequent discount too.
It needs at least 125 hours still!
I think you should try this. Systems and question of taste. The SR Master in my Kraftwerk sounds great, it also sounded good in the preamp.
If I want to try out a fuse again then the M2 seems to be a good choice so far, also in terms of price compared to the Master.
M2 replaced a master for now until I get the hours on the M2 then I’ll put the master back in.
