Snickering.
I don’t get it either and I’ve tried.
Your buddy Paul should let you try his M-2 or Master in your MU-2 to see if it does anything (assuming it uses one). The Master has a sonic character that may make some of the high end systems sound worse. Then you know fuse is doing something.
I am done with fuses. From now on I only want music.
At the risk of coming off like a shill, if you get bored, I could use some help getting some more of us with resolving systems to try the Swiss Digital Fuse Box.
Based on my experience, I really think we could disrupt this, “which fuse is better where?” discussion and productively expand our horizons here in this regard.
Your bona fides as a quasi-fuse denier make you imminently qualified to pontificate on whether the SDFB can provide any benefit.
More importantly, the devil on my left shoulder really wants to see if the SDFB is a disrupter that could result in some here questioning the value of expensive fuses and (and lead to some getting off of the fuse merry-go-round).
I am guessing you have plenty of quality, excess power cables to choose from to connect the SDFB to a key component or two in your system.
Goadingly yours.
I guess after hearing Paul’s comments about the SR Master from the source and it sounds like your wife liked M-2 in DAC i will order some too Did your MK2 have an M2 or Master that wasn’t too clear or whether she liked M-2 better or Master in the DAC?
I have been considering it. Sadly, all my spare power cables live at @paul172 home. I would have to do a take back and that would sting Paul.
I could just get some sluggos and live dangerously for very short periods of time and still use my preferred cables. But no, that is foolishness.
I want them to make the control device such that you plug your existing power cable into it, and plug it into your audio device. Seems simple enough, why haven’t they thought of it? Maybe they really like selling cables?
She is usually in Al’s camp, don’t care much about all my fuses. But M-2 replacing M-1 in PST made her ask me what did I do, which surprised me!
MK2 had a Master before. When M-2 was in for a week the system sounded quieter and better, but my speaker had two days of break-in at the time so I could not really tell if the fuse contributed anything. It was not until the Master went back that I noticed I still like Master better.
I agree…don’t go there.
I am not so sure…seems like the backs of Hi-Fi components don’t leave much room for “creativity” near the inlets. Heck, some of my PCs are difficult to plug in without covering up fuse access points or getting in the way of O/I switches.
But if they could narrow the circumference of the gizmo, you might be on to something. (I am sure they probably like selling cables.)
You know you’re asking to forgo two Masters, four M-1s, and two Purples, plus a M-2 now. You’re asking me to face a potentially reality that I should flush all in the toilet. I cannot bare that😆
Oh come on, the equipment end of most of my power cables is 2 inches in diameter and 3 inches long.
If they did a 90 at the cable end you could save space between the device and the wall. The cord drops straight down. This could still allow a VMAX style tower to support the device. In fact, they could sell towers that adjust in height.
(Just thinking out loud)
The tower could support the power cable and the device. I can see it in my head, it would be sweet.
I like the idea.
Maybe the product will evolve.
(But don’t forget, they probably like selling PCs. )
My fuses aren’t DAC friend they are both 16 amp fuses. I don’t think that would be recommended
AI will come up with my idea in four years.
You don’t have to throw all of those down the drain. I added one SDFB, on my regenerator. It made a significant difference, and it works incredibly well with all the Audio Magic and SR fuses in my other components.
Not necessarily…
Depending on whether and what kind of power conditioner and/or distributor you use, you may enjoy a benefit without chucking the fuses you have deployed downstream of your power conditioner/distributor.
I noted this before - in my case, the SDFB serves my P10 Regenerator and my PSA DS Sr. DAC with the factory fuse, still benefitted (in that my digital-centric system sounded better to my ears).
FWIW.
PS
Don’t forget to enjoy what you have Donald. Its a fabulous system.

This will support Digi box with a adaptor great. or this more practical solution:
The first one did improve the sound. The second one? I have not tried it yet.
I will wait to let Al try it first.
Couldn’t hurt!
Okay, we have another validation. After my NY trip, I will… Wait, we are going to Asia next.
I will wait until my birthday cake shows up, then I will give it a try.
