Wow! Okay, your system does not need a new fuse. Wait, that Purple looks very familiar. You go it from me! Now I may put one more for sale to afford the digi box.
I may have got it from you, but I also got one from @straightwire.
Since you do not use them, you must be in one of the few selected audiophile charities. I swear I will not dump my next fuse on you!
That’s the spirit!
I don’t use the Purples as they are sacred. The three M-1s are all in service. Not likely to take them out.
I have avoided the Master Madness but I do like the Magic Black Boxes.
I have fourteen sets of the IsoPods in use in my three systems! I hope you are using those. They are the best isolation footers I’ve used.
Only in June.
Last count I have 24 Iso Pods, quads on every unit. I don’t want to know if there is anything better. They seem to work. Must keep track of your balls, however, sometimes they can get lost.
In my system, the Iso Pods make an improvement that is very easy to hear on every component.
Thanks I didn’t realize it was PST she liked. That equipment I don’t have so Maybe two M-2’s feeding one of my LPS and regenerator or both the LPSs that run router and Bachh4mac should be my goal. They are all running same size M-1 fuse curr.
I was hoping you will try SDFB first!
I just don’t dont like all thep ower cords needed. The P-20 and P-15 alredy has a power limit device. Might as well roll the dice and throw in a sluggo over using that and relying on the breaker in the fuse box to prevent fire. Even if your regenerator smokes itself you saved by not buying another power cord. Nobody requires electronics have their own internal fuse.
Huh?
Does your vacuum cleaner or blender have its own fuse.? Logic sir .
I simply don’t follow/understand the post I replied to.
What kind of logic were you using - boolean, modal, applied?
The fuse in a P-20 is to limit circuit damage if a internal circuit fails. It has a power limiting device that shuts itself off already separate from the amp inside right by the inlet for power
So it essentially has another level of redundancy. If your regenerator is out of warranty. Why ise to 5k power cords and a SDFB. The line going to a regenerator is either a 15 am or 20 amp that the breaker will set to prevent a house fire. Does a vacuum cleaner? Light fixture or lamp require an internal fuse? No. Would you violate a fire code by replacing a P-20 6.3Amp fuse with a slugo. No
It comes down to a cost vs dollars trade study. Not a safety issue.
Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you are writing.
By the way, I don’t think you need thousand-dollar power cables to benefit from a SDFB and a Sluggo.
However, your idea about forgoing a SDFB and just installing a Sluggo in PSA Regenerator is interesting.
If I had both I would evaluate sound improvement. You’re still relying on an unfused SDFB to save itself with its circuitry and not pass on current to the regenerator.
I understand your concern and that was mine too, that I need a power cord 10 times the value of SDFB from the wall. Because tweakers like us cannot stand the thought of using a stock cord.
Then I realized the last piece of the power cord next to the gear/condition/generator is the one that really matters. That is where the conditioning/filtering works its magic. Before it you just need a line provide good current (at least that was what I believe). Otherwise, we need to have audiophile grade line all the way to the pole.
If I am getting SDFB I will try an adaptor without a cord first, then I will compare with the stock cord. I have a few spare PCs to try to see how much a difference would they make, and I hope it is not worth of a AQ Dragon, or a ZenWave PSR-11. Then it becomes another expensive upgrade.
If I am getting it, I will not use another aftermarket fuse since it was designed to replace a fuse, and to sound better than a fuse.
