Since everything is connected to your preamp, you might want to start with your BHK pre.
If I get more M-1s they will go to my steaming LPS first. My DS DAC already has a Beeswax push pull design I like. When changing cpower cables other parts of digital streaming chain were more impacted than my DS DAC. But I will wait for @waymanchen11 to hear his results. We are usually on same page with tweak results so our systems tend to react similar.
Perhaps two adults. Theyâll need to work in shifts.
100% agree.
When I changed the Beeswax Ultimate Premier I had in my DAC to a Purple, it had a pretty good impact enhancing the Purple I had put in my P20 at the time, making the sound seem even more open and powerful with powerful music.
The M-1 I now have in the P20 I feel makes the sound for want of a better word, more analog like. Less harshness, more body, just a more complete picture.
Iâm feeling the M-1 in the DAC will enhance the sound of the M-1 in the P20 even further, weâll see.
I took out the Purple 6.3 and put back the AM Ultimate 1.6 into PST. It just sounds different. I like Purple a little better, but I do not even have it anymore. It is flying to the new owner lucky Paul.
I need to get something to get high again; maybe another M-1?
Thank you all for your thoughts, so appreciated.
Still waiting for delivery of the first King, which will go into the P20 (pros and cons related to live in Italy on the other side of the world!). Here the jump expected is bigger, from the stock fuse. Anyhow the second one, if and when, will probably put into the BHK Pre, already equipped with the Purple.
Due to longer delivery times in my case I suspect some of you will be already experienced with a second/third M-1 in the chain before I can decide about it, so I have to be patient (what a sad virtue!), wait and see for your comments.
Enjoy!
Hey karthickâŠ
Since I read that the BW and M1 fuses are bi-directionalâŠ
I didnât pay attention as to which way the M1 was facing
when I installed itâŠ
One day when I get to messinâ around with my P15 I might
flip the M1 around to see if it makes a differenceâŠ
It sounds excellent whichever way it wound up going inâŠ
Best wishes yâall
Using the all threads as intended is a much better way to remove the top cover of the Direcstream DAC.
I guess thatâs a matter of opinion. The odds of having a suction device are about as good as having 4 all threads.
A suction cup on lid used to lift tiles or small Phillips screw driver that fits in hole, screw was removed from, can also press it off. If it falls off then the EMI fingers are missing, or pushed out of place.
The suction tools are at Lowes
Was never much of a fuse guy. I bought a SR black a number of years back for use with my now sold off Prima Luna preamp⊠I did feel it made a very slight difference to the sound quality but was never really impressed much⊠so I never pursued another high end fuse.
With all the âthrough the roof reviews/commentsâof the M1âŠI went and ordered one! We shall see as the saying goesâŠ
You can get a set of all threads of the right pitch and size fro PS Audio and it wonât cost $45 like a suction cup. It wonât result in any damage or marks to the top cover either.
I already mentioned that I put an M1 in my P20 and Iâm very pleased with the results.
That said, it is after all, a fuse. I recommend folks temper expectations.

It only cost $8 at Amazon. Works wonderful.

Yes that would do the trick. I got my all threads from PS Audio for no cost.
So clearly thereâs a preference for M-1 over SR Purple. Where does QSA Yellow fit in there? Everyone I personally know whoâs trued SRP and QSAY prefers the Yello by a fair margin.
Hey mark-d what amp gear have you now?
Best wishes
