Swiss Digital Fuse Box, the fuse reinvented

@SonicBliss
hi Andy,
I bought three SDFBs with their “Extreme” piggies and graphene sluggos. One went into my P20 and one each into my BHK300 mono blocks. I’m in Australia, hence had to use a US cable (piggies) for the US socket on the SDFB. I used a cable burner for the piggies before use. The graphene sluggos have their own burning in time which you can’t expedite with a burner. It’s great from the get-go but gets better. My power cables are from a local cable guy, and of course one can always “go up” in price and performance. The NET effect, though, was a big jump in sound quality. Unexpected detail retrieval and focus in addition to dynamics. Enjoy and please share your impressions.
Phil

Hi Phil - Great info and much appreciated - I have my first haha SDFB with Graphene sluggo on the way - with Piggy Extreme - I will let you know my findings…Thanks!
Andy

I’m doing some work here in US for an Australian Audio Company EDC Acoustics. Steerable Beam technology like in the Sphere LV.

Wow - I had a look. Pro applications. Need your own power station to feed those active speakers!!

Yes it’s Amazing - I spent my career in Pro Applications - Stadiums/ Arenas/Performing Arts Centers/Studios - now I just want to sit home in my and listen haha! An expensive hobby - but the best one! Thanks…Andy

In my Room*

I just received my SDFB for my P15. I didn’t order a piggy and will use a Wireworld Silver Electra power cable that’s not being used. I also have a solid silver sluggo that I ordered on Ali that I’ll try 1st.

Nice - sounds fun - please let us know how it goes…

Well I tried a Fuse Box and Graphene sluggo in my PreAmp Processor. Initially everything is better. Better transients - Drums are snappier - vocals are smoother - more detail and separation of instruments - more musical sounding. Not burned in yet. Thumbs up for sure!

Which fuse did the FB replace?

I replaced the stock fuse in this case. I still have the Master in Lumin U2 - A pink in SW-10 and a couple purples in other stuff.

I am curious of a Graphene sluggo in Lumin in stead of Master…

That sounds very interesting. If you try it let us know.

My guess (and it is just a guess) is that graphene sluggo and Master (also graphene) will be similar as both are relying on graphene for conduction. The key is that the SDFB is non-sacrificial. If there’s a surge, you just re-set. If you blow a Master, that is a sad day indeed. I will be interested to hear of anyone’s actual comparison between well burned in SDFB graphene sluggo and SR Master fuses.

Just up-slugged from supers to graphenes in P20 & BHK 250. MK2 and BHK pre soldier on with pinks currently (perhaps not for long…).

Dynamics, micro, ease-- all substantively improved over previous gains with SDFBs. It’s a revelation you need to hear to believe.

Absolutely! All my Sluggos (three) have been Graphene for a spell now and man the sound is amazing.

I replaced the SR Master Fuse in my Nordost QB-8 power distributor with a Graphene Sluggo and the improvement was not subtle and only got better as the Sluggo burned in…

@andynotadam - that is most interesting!! That makes me ever so happy with my decision not to go for the SR Master but rather the SDFB with graphene. Now I’ve got to think about whether to get a couple more for my DSD Mk2 and BHK Pre…

I have to say, unlike the other Sluggos that took some time to season in, the Graphene continued to change subtly for the better over weeks. I introduced mine into the system one by one about two weeks apart (replacing first a silver, then a rhodium plated and then a copper Sluggo) and it was about a month after the last was installed that I was no longer surprised by little stretchs of change. And now that the change has stopped–no complaints–fantastic system sound.

Bet you cannot buy just one.
