Your drink of choice

Timely!

Funny enough I bought a bottle of the 10 and one of the 12 today (and an Olde St Nick Summer)!

Next to a Blantons on my shelf!

St Nicks 119.1!

Now choosing which music will go with which!

My favorite Scotch glass. It might not look it, but it is indeed smoky on the inside.

Aye, and a fine glass she looks!

Home made cocktail:

1/3 Chamisul Soju, 2/3 soda water, home grown Thai mint, and ice.

My absolute favorite spirit so far. The journey continues.

Sooo good!

Where to buy great single malt whisky at a bargain? The answer:

Asia flight to USA. My wife bought this one on airplane from Taiwan:

Apparently, this brand is very popular in Taiwan, and this bottle of Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Cask is selling for at least $400 in US, and she paid $92 tax free on her flight here. The wooden box is very nice too, and maybe I can convert it to a grounding box by putting some Tourmaline stones in it later

That one looks like its worth it.

Earlier this year I went to the Bahamas for the first time and picked up a bottle of Hennessy Pure White (which is now available in the US apparently!) for $50, half of what they want state side. Still, $50 too much… asking prices are high here in the US!

I should hunt down a bottle of Richard. Best I ever had.

Excellent choice!

Yes!!
Those are my favorite Kavalans, the Fino and the Vinho Barrique. I tried most others and chose a certain batch of those. I really love Whiskys and have a small (roughly in the 20s + backups) but quite selective collection meanwhile, cheers!

Edit: those US prizes for Kavalan are quite crazy…I guess my Kavalan stock alone would be 5-6k there.

Very nice! I need to schedule another Asia trip just for this whisky again! :tumbler_glass:

You should plan a stop at Paul John Whisky in India, too!

Been a while, so thought I should drop and say (again) - Tea, of course - PG Tips (decaf) milk, no sugar. In a (thin walled, pre-heated) mug please

look at my Christmas gift from a dear friend and business associate….he sells lighting and I have done business with his firm for 30 years. Good people in a difficult but rewarding business. Very exciting gift!

The same subject, though writ small. :joy:

To celebrate the day…

Found this delightful and complex stout from New Realm Brewing out of Atlanta and VA Beach. Yum!

Some mighty tasty stuff, y’all. Cheers & Happy Holidays!

I’ve kinda soured on whiskey, especially bourbon, the last few years. Most of what I hade previously enjoyed I started to find too sweet and cloying. But I picked this up yesterday and wow is this smoooooth. Highest recommendation!
