Stand your ground, man. If it works for you and it’s the best you’ve had, there is is no need to justify its place in your system. Joy has no measure.
I am not the only audiophile with a conflicted mind, I am sure. ![]()
Straightwire is right! When your system sounds better, then the stupid money you spent suddenly makes so much sense. I wish it would last a bit longer before the next stupid purchase. ![]()
How I agree with you my friend! This forum is the evil, sometimes. And sometimes I think I wouldn’t love so much this hobby without it.
Never thought a few years ago I could have insanely spent money for a fuse or entire weeks for a room refurbishment. But I’m happy, the only thing that counts! Go ahead, Donald, you decide your limits.
If I were to swap my M-1 fuse for this exciting new wonder fuse in my P20 would I notice and appreciate the change? After what, 75 hours?
I’m actually excited about my New StressLess Throne arriving next week! I am going to raise it by placing a one inch layer of Sorbothane under it, and then wrap it in three different layers of foil in herringbone style. I’m thinking about a chrome knob somewhere on it. For safety.
Or you might think you hear a difference and then don’t.
If I think I hear it, it still counts right?
I prefer to get as little possible back as possible. I don’t see any reason for the Fed to hold onto my money and give it back to me without interest.
Is there a brand of aluminum foil that is more audiophile approved than others for wraps and hats?
The third day the sound became incredibly great in my system. I cannot guarantee it, but it beats stock fuse I think. I’ll confirm it if you can wait for a few weeks ![]()
But Dewd, I specifically said swap out an M-1. Not stock.
We’ll be pals no matter what.
If you keep swapping them out they will only be different or not.
It beats M-1 easily. Wait, I don’t mean it since you bought mine ![]()
I have two of those suckers now! I’ll trade them both to you in trade for the superfuse. It would be like the world should be. I really like this idea!
Al
What does George think about all of this “super fuse” business?
Two M-1 still sound great, as a seller I highly recommend you keep them. Do not ever try the Master. I don’t want to see you become a believer in fuse.
Seriously, I think it may make less improvement in your system.
He isn’t interested in even considering such things. He recommends gear that makes the need for such things very small. When you have limited funds, magic bullets are attractive. You know someday you are going to goof up big time and order $40,000 speakers. Wait, what? No. But then you do.
The sad thing is each and every insane upgrade is worth it. Even fuses I imagine.
By the way, I believe that I have solved audio. So I’m moving on to sports cars.
Or wait! Watches! Fancy watch’s. Mmmmmmmm
I guess I’m with George then, better gear and not “better” magic bullets.
He warned me last week that my MBL Extremes look like a December install. Yikes! I’m strongly leaning towards saying thanks, but no thanks. Costly but a $600k savings. It can’t be that good can it? And I can’t use the BACCH with them so bah.
You already own what is generally accepted as one of the finest speakers in the world so I would say no thanks but that’s just me. I would love to try a pair of ice cream cones.
More anything seems absurd. Except music! I love buying vinyl from Bandcamp and getting the AIFF files as well.
