Luca,
I think you are suffering from Stockholm syndrome
Luca,
I think you are suffering from Stockholm syndrome
Amongst other audiophile syndromes!
Hey tony22…
Well tony for sake of finding out the delta between the new SR Master vs stock
went ahead and shut down everything replaced the SR Master with the stock fuse
which was supplied in my P15 as it cam fresh from PS Audio. You will be pleased
to read the following.
My amp has remained on for the better part of my listening test with new SR Master fuse.
So the following is not impacted by whether my system had warmed up or not…
Right away night-day…the stock fuse has a warm sounding character…however the
characteristics of dimension, extension of instruments in space…the chimera of instruments
extending into space “far away” or anywhere in between…the breadth, depth, height of
the acoustic sound stage and all the merits which I wrote earlier simply vanished…poof.
With the stock fuse the sound stage collapses…
For those who are doubting that is okay…perhaps one day you might decide
to give the SR Master a go…they do offer a 30 day money back home trial.
It is however difficult to think that my system shows off fuse changes with ease
as well as ics, speaker cables, power cords etc…while other more elevated
systems don’t seem to as much…while it is with these more elevated systems
that such a key as the quality of the tiny meltwire found in the fuse through which all the power going into the equipment must pass. The difference should most be apparent.
Vmax how is it you say self gratification…if you believe that wouldn’t have the very $$$$$
wonderful gear you have or be as deep into the hobby as you are…would you?
Okay well having tried and heard the delta and reporting my findings is not a debate
it is an experience…enjoying it too much…
Granted your mileage may vary…
Absolutely Al …we all hear differently and things we hear interpret differently…
Would you be purchasing your new MBL speakers ir you hadn’t ? Of course
not.
The whole purpose in acquiring upgrades is to increase the further enjoyment
of the music we love or so it seems to be…
As Al said earlier…We can still be pals…right?
Enough from me for now…till the next time
Best wishes y’all
It is the hobby filled with wabbit holes
Best wishes
THANK YOU DAVID! I guess I’ll have to think about whether it’s worth the leap from the M-1.
75 hours now on my two Master fuses now, (one in P20 and the other in my P20 UK power cord mains plug). I had a two hours listening session last night and came away with the following impression.
I deeply respect everyones opinions and experiences and yours including . I wouldn’t rule out at least one Master fuse eventually. But I still have other tweaks to finish I already purchased first, namely mod to make my MAc Mini M1 LPS powered
for my Bacch4Mac audiophile edition. Plus making my listening room left and rear wall less acoustically reflective and more absorptive to see if there is still more squeeze for increasing its performance. So far just making small acoustic changes like removing diffusion plates has offered even greater returns in immersion an imaging everywhere even for my home theater. The initial tonality and timbre changes from bacch4mac are better than any fuses or power tweaks singularly or combined for me up to this point,
I do like the tweaks that offer more of everything so I will wait for more reviews before trying. The Master.
It is a journey to experience…
Best wishes
With the BACCH-SP the soundstage does not need any improvement at all. So your comments lead me to believe I am good where I am at.
Well it seems that the Theoretica Bacch-SP prices in at around the mid $20,000 range
from what reviewers are saying…At that price it better make sound better or is it just simply
different …a lot more expensive than an SR Master fuse for sure!!
The Bacch-SP reminds me of Mathew Poll\k’s SR speaker systems and Bob Carver’s
C-9 Holographic unit …Both of which I have had the opportunity to hear…amazing
effects they could create or unleash which ever way you may hear that…
Hmmm let me see here a Bacch-SP hooke up with a little ole SR Master fuse…
now that ought to be the ticket…
Oh well it is all for the fun of it …enjoy it
Best wishes
Timbre correctness, Tonal balance, vivid, smooth, yet relaxed delivery, plus a weightier presentation is what I would describe my system today from last week.
Whether that was due Omega USB fully broke-in, the new MK2 FW update, five days of break-in on the Master fuse, or a combination of above. I do not know. But the only new thing I added from last week was the Master fuse. It has to contribute more than others, I am sure.
Besides Al’s system, everyone else will benefit.
It sure would ..but he won’t admit it but his bunnies sure would lipippit
hippity hoppity hop..
Best wishes
Good report Donald, thanks for adding your view and experience
to this thread …It is appreciated!!

Today I added my third (and final?) SR Master Fuse, replacing a Purple in the Nordost QB8 power distributor that feeds my entire system (other than two of my three REL S/5s).
I also have Master Fuses in my Mk2 and BHK pre.
Everything else has Purples. I have never tried an AM-1, so I can’t comment on that.
FIrst impressions are very positive and in line with the improvements I noticed with the first two, especially in all aspects of soundstaging, intimacy, effortlessness, bass control and extension, and detail (i.e., a still lower noise floor).
Expensive yes, but It’s just over 2% of the retail cost of the rest of my system.
100 hours now on my 2 Master fuses.
I turned to home theatre last night for entertainment.
Picked a recent movie on Netflix, The Last Full Measure, made in 2019. For good picture and sound quality.
Good cast and the story is based on true life.
Both picture and sound was sublime.
Picture - like watching a large oled tv.
Sound - dialogue, extremely natural and easy to follow, soundtrack, again very natural, just drew you into the movie.
I’ve a few extra tweaks to get the best out of my streaming services, a Supra cat 8 cable from my router to an English Electric switch which is powered by a Sbooster LPS.
It’s amazing the quality you can get with Netflix when given the chance to get the best out of it.
Alright now andynotadam…Glad you are findings are a positive impression with improvements!!
As it should be…
Congratulations…enjoy your music!!
Best wishes
Actually no…not 75 hours but immediately right away…like waymanchen and myself…
unless your hearing has declined
Small price in the overall scheme an entire system’s price…
Give it a go Al for your P20… SR gives 30 day money back …can’t hurt…
Best wishes
Just received my two master fuses for the BHK Pre and Mk2, this should be good.
Contrary to some thoughts that we get used to …or that perhaps that new height of musical
expression which in this case a fuse initially yields sliding back as if were to the level of
a stock fuse’s performance hence making the user think it was a self psycho acoustical in nature…
The self psycho acoustic has not happened here…Musical performance just get better and better.
Just finished listening to …
Stunning beautiful rendition with the SR Master fuse

Hey Sonic77…
I’m sure they will bring your system to a whole new level…
Question do you have a power regenerator in your system?
